The error message Error: Expected array, found value of type <\|...\|> is generated if all of the following conditions are satisfied: The input to an output port within a conditional subsystem is connected to the output of a Merge block. The data type of the Merge block is a vector or matrix. No initial value is specified for either the Merge or Outport block.

The error message

  Error: Expected array, found value of type <|...|>

is generated if all of the following conditions are satisfied:

The input to an output port within a conditional subsystem is connected to the output of a Merge block.
The data type of the Merge block is a vector or matrix.
No initial value is specified for either the Merge or Outport block.
